Expanded Documentary
Mostly spanning across the 21st century and late 20th century, Expanded Documentary expresses the changing nature of photography as technology and people evolve. It purposely explores new and interesting ways to capture photos. In many cases it focuses on the increasingly blurry relationship between artist, subject, and viewer. Oftentimes, it calls into question how we take photos to be explicit documents of a moment, when in reality the meanings of photos arise from people. Expanded Documentary is an exploration of photography in an innovative way, meant to capture attention and dialogue about what the purpose of a photo is.
