Commentary
Genji Monogatari (The Tale of Genji), Ch. 3, "Utsusemi": Prince Genji's lover Lady Utsusemi ,(on the left), is playing the game, "Go," with Nokiba-no-ogi. The "Tale of Genji" is a literary masterpiece, which tells of the intrigue and human drama in the ancient Heian court. This work inspired countless literary works and artworks in subsequent generations.
