Red silk lampas with designs in colored silks and gold threads.
Object Description
Large rectangular Buddhist's monk's mantle (kesa) pieced together of panels made of silk with chyrsanthemum patterns. The lining bears an inscription dated to the Temmei period year nine (equivalent of 1789) of emperor Kokaku (1780- ).
