Object Description
Chinese Manchurian style woman's domestic formal robe of red twill. The robe is decorated with an embroidered pattern of seven roundels with orchids and fungus, with a wave and mountain border. Four loop and gold ball closures run down one side. It would have originally have had a matching surcoat in navy blue. The piece is an excellent example of type and period.
