Commentary
Yoshitoshi was friends with many Kabuki actors and did such portrait prints for sale to theater fans. The artistic style of this image, with the angular facial features and patterned background are typical of Kuniyoshi's studio where Yoshitoshi learned printmaking. One panel of a triptych.
