Signed "Masterson" on bottom in blue ink; tape reading "512" on bottom.
Medium
White porcelain ware thrown in two sections and joined with coils. The lower section was pressed into a goose stamp while still damp and the upper section was engraved while damp and colored with glaze stains and oxides, and coated with a clear glaze after being bisqued. The vase was then fired in a slight reduction atmosphere to cone 10.
Object Description
Vase of Leda and the Swan; very tall and thin, white with a colored panel (nude woman and swans painted in glaze) and embossed (stamped) swans, incised decoration, widens at mouth.
