Object Description
Book Illustration (sashi-e) for "Genji Monogatari (Tale of Genji) which was written by Lady Murasak-shikibu in the Heian Period. The novel chronicled the life of prince Genji and the people around him in the court. This print is a scene from chapter 13, "Akashi."
