Object Description
Five sytlized butterflies flitter over a dark blue "Kyoto ground" on this footed and rimmed vase. The motion of the butterflies in flight is captured between the highly detailed borders on the shoulder and base of the piece. Sculpted wire and fine multi-colored enameling work are masterfully combined in the creation of every detail in each of the butterflies. The wire work is precise and meticulous in execution.
