Object Description
Meiji period color woodblock print depicting young beauty in a small boat on the water near vegetation. Her arm is in the water, and a black umbrella is behind her. The illustration is for the novel "Koshin no Chikai" published in Bungei Kurabu magazine vol. 7, no.9. The kuchi-e is still attached to the original book (falling apart; only a few pages left) with a few advertisements and interesting old photographs of Meiji Era beauties plus a photo titled, "German New Fashion; Japanese Geisha Dance in Berlin" featuring three German ladies in geisha costume.
