Cast hollow gilded brass.
Object Description
Brass statue of a woman, possibly Surya, the Hindu sun goddess. She stands with her arms down, and the hands hold receptacles for candles. Her hair is styled in a bun in back. From the feet of the figure (which rest on a pedestal) to the small of her back a handle extends. She stands on a raised dais. The statue is hollow, and rather poorly executed.
