Object Description
A barefoot young woman, in a checked dress with a gathered neckline, is depicted seated on a stool or chair with wooden legs, at the center of the photto. She is gazing down at a large brochure illustrated with the faces of women of various eras (first ladies?) in medallions. A fireplace, with a mantel decorated with two candlesticks and a bullseye mirror are visible behind her. A woman wearing a patterned dress sits on a stool while looking down at a spread of books and magazines. The stool is in the middle of the room on a shaggy carpet and infront of an unlit fireplace.
