Mural created using a technique loosely called fresco secco, in which a pigment mixed with a small amount of binder was applied to a dry intonacco layer (a layer of lime).
Object Description
The Martinez mural in the Margaret Fowler Garden at Scripps College was begun in 1946 and left unfinished at the time of the artist's death on November 8, 1946. The nine panels depict a grouping of female Mexican flower vendors.
