Commentary
Old number "L1136/154" written in pencil on the backing paper. Listed in the Munthe inventory (p.154) as a "Good Sung landscape. Ink, brushwork, paper and composition Sung. In all probability a Sung original, but the signature of Sü Tao-ning is a later addition."

Marks
There is a signature amongst the rocks a few inches in from the right edge, 2/3 of the way down the painting. A square red ink seal and an oval red ink seal are stamped in the lower left of the image.

Medium
Light paint washes (mainly blue-grey) and black ink on paper, with an off-white silk brocade border.

Object Description
Mounted vertical scroll of a landscape with rocky mountains, and a lone pine tree growing out from the rocks. Two figures walk along a path in the lower left of the image.
