Written in pencil on the outside: Sung. Yen Wen-Nu(illeg.): Landscape.

Inscription along the far left edge with a red seal (faded).

Medium
Colored paint and black ink brushed onto silk, with an ivory silk mounting. Ivory silk, yellow paper, and off-white and mint green silk brocades proceed the painting.

Object Description
Long horizontal Chinese scroll of a landscape of mountains divided by water (stream near center, ocean at the left end). The landscape includes trees, houses within valleys, villages, and travellers riding horses upon paths. The painting is in faint pink and green tones, with extremely fine, detailed brushwork.
