Object Description
Unlike most of the works in the album, this is a vertical composition. It is a studio image. In the center of the work stands a man, wearing the traditional clothing of a pilgrim. He wears a wide-brimmed hat and carries a staff in his left hand. He stands on what appears to be a path outdoors, bordered by plants. Thatched cottages and Mt Fuji are depicted on a backdrop behind the subject. His gaze is not directed at the viewer, but to the viewer's left. He seems abstracted, his expression serious.
