Diula Standing Male Figure, c. 1950-1975

Old number: 5551.
51" high, 7 3/4" at the shoulders, 5 5/8" wide at the base.
There is a tag reading: "$1200.00 N3 Dubuki" attached to the bottom of the base. There is tape reading "5551" on the back of the neck. "5551" is painted on the back of the base, but is almost worn off.
Carved wood, heavy and dark.
Tall, thin male figure, cut off below the knees, mounted onto a round pedestal. The figure has an extremely long torso, and his arms are against his sides, with the hands touching the sides. He is decorated with three cuts in the wood on either side of his chest above the nipples, two notches cut into the right arm, and groupings of three cuts on his face on either side of the mouth, on his cheeks, and above both eyebrows. He has flattened, half circular ears, and slit eyes. The crown of his head is pointed.
