Object Description
Princess Shiragiku, the beautiful daughter of a government official from the Enshu (Totomi) area, was abducted by a rebel who had secretly developed a passion for her. With the help of Kannon, the Bodhisattva of Compassion, Shiragiku escaped into a lotus pond and was rescued.

Inset: Shiragiku-hime reunited with Uesugi Kagesada (died 1595).
