Commentary
From the series, "Osaka Sanjurokkei" (Thirty-six Views of Osaka). No. 22. Shinsai-bashi Bridge and nearby shopping center. The note on the index of the series indicates, "The artist Rinsaku Akamatsu, being an authority of modern Western style painting, selected the 36 views of Osaka in order to present them as they had been prior to recent war damages.
