Commentary
"Miotsukushi": Prince Genji visits the Sumiyoshi shrine because he believed that the protection of the god, Sumiyoshi Myojin, enabled him to come back to Kyoto. The "Tale of Genji" is a literary masterpiece, which tells of the intrigue and human drama in the ancient Heian court. This work inspired countless literary works and artworks in subsequent generations.
