Commentary
"The only solarized negative of James Black's archive and another favorite image. Contrasting the crisp neon with the frenzy of urban nightlife and the faceless blur of those walking the bustling sidewalk James captures a highly iconic image. The subconscious narrative illuminates his subtle ability to capture the moment while marquis details shed light on this once silent film theatre heralding legends such as Fatty Arbuckle and Charlie Chaplin."
(Sean Black, son of James Black)
