Commentary
"Edo Murasaki Gojuyon Cho". The series design was alluded to the chapters of the Tale of Genji. Chapter 8 "Hana no En" (Flower Banquet). Prince Genji is holding an elaborately patterned ogi-fan. He is reminiscining on the beauty he saw while strolling through the garden. The background was done fby Kunisada's pupils, Gyokuran and Sadahide.
