Note from donor: "Geometric sculpture by Hiroashi Seto who lives in Mashiko who spent probably a year in the United States. I found the work in Mashiko almost always discredited by other potters in Japan. Perhaps they feel that the town was too heavily influenced by Hamada."

Tape reading "38" and "3" on bottom; kanji inscribed on bottom.

Handbuilt form. Bisque fired to Cone 9, twin faceted areas covered with Cone 06 glazes and lustrres. Gold and platinum lustres applied over a previously fired white glaze. Stoneware. Stainless steel base.
