Commentary
The artist Hanabusa depicts a vigorous dance as the actor lifts his foot onto the bridge railing. The lion shakes his head, having smelled the heavenly fragrance of the peonies, while the chorus chants that flowers and trees will bend before the Buddha when the lion dances.

Beautifully printed noh woodblock prints in the original folders and a silk covered box. The depicted noh plays are: Hagoromo, Shakkyo, Dojoji, Yuya, Okina, Matsukaze, Kokaji, Ohara Goko, Izutsu, and Shojo.
