Object Description
While visiting his mother in Seoul, Jacoulet asked her servants and acquaintances to pose for his sketches. Here he depicts a Confucian scholar dressed in a traditional yanban hat and robes, flanked by his students in an almost timeless scene. One boy seems intensely engaged in conversation with his teacher, while the other appears worried and distracted.
