Commentary
Ping Yungui is an unidentified painter from the Qing dynasty.
Professor Kathleen M. Ryor, Carleton College

A very nice work, signed Ping Yungui—possibly a female artist. It is in the Wu school style. The painting is excellent, particularly the roosters.

A really lovely painting. The artist—Ping Yungui—unfortunately, is not easily tracked down. Signature states he or she is of Jinling (Nanjing). Difficult to date, but probably 18th century.

Professor Peter Sturman, University of California, Santa Barbara
