"The Tale of Genji" was written by Lady Murasaki-shikibu in the Heian Period. The novel chronicled the life of Prince Genji and the people around him in the court. Countless stories, films, poems and paintings have been inspired by this classic masterpiece of Japanese literature.
The series was commissioned to Kaoru Saito as six original works for nine years as an edition of 85. The total series will be completed in the tenth year.
This work is a complete set with decorative folder, outer case and an introduction of the series by the original publisher Seibu Hyakkaten.
