Probably coil-built terracotta, with a red slip and black painted glyphs.

Object Description
Large Aztec late post-classic style urn. It is covered with a red slip and has glyphs in black, representing shields with symbols such as feathers and snakes. The images probably represented the warrior this piece was burried with. Urns such as this were usually used for the cooking of sacrifices.
