Earthenware jug with a coil-built body and hand-built head and neck. The object has a tan/light cream slip and decoration in dark brown and red paint or glaze. Slightly burnished.
Object Description
Small earthenware jug with a coil-built body. Decorated with hand-building and paint to look like an owl. There are small clay protrusions on the bpdy for wings and a tail, and one more on the neck for a break and ears. The piece has a tan/light cream colored slip, and circles painted on in dark bowl. There are a few patches for the wings, and red paint used on the eyes and top of the jug. The jug has two holes in the side and a rounded bottom, and is slightly burnished.
