Commentary
Triptych; 3 panels not cojoined. Courtesans and cranes: This triptych depicts a group of elegant courtesans and their attendants enjoying a garden visit. The multitude of cranes, symbols of longevity, suggest that this print might have been made as a birthday greeting, perhaps for one of the women portrayed.
