Commentary
"[A new freedom in his work] is first seen in such works as Vase, 1961, in which Soldner alters the thrown pot, attaching pieces of clay to the neck and body. This work is an early example of his technique of throwing a vessel then changing its shape by attaching sections of clay." (Mary Davis MacNaughton, Revolution in Clay, 1994, pg. 64)

Object Description
Bottle shaped vase with rounded body, with appliqued patches of clay. Body is glazed dark bown and neck is light gray.
