"Soldner's Vessel, 1966, from the post-Otis period is a mature raku work. Expressive of Soldner's interest in an ever-shrinking base joined to a dominant top, the work features a running, reaching figure stretched across the body of the vessel. Casually rendered, the figure has both a primitive and evocative quality typical of Soldner's best work."
(Martha Drexler Lynn, Revolution in Clay, 1994, pg. 100)

"Soldner" signed in black felt pen on the side of the foot, near the bottom.

Stoneware, partially-glazed raku, thrown.
