Commentary
Soldner was a frequenter of ceramic art events and was well-respected. At one such visit, he met the donor's mother, Carolyn Folkins. This vase was made as a gift by Soldner for Carolyn Folkins. Soldner took fur from Folkins' dog's tail in order to make the brush that was used to glaze this piece. (From William Hemmerdinger's analysis, written January 31, 2018.)
