Commentary
"Pedestal Piece (907), 1990, features Soldner's more recent low-fire work. Slab-built sections are added in layers to create a vessel balanced on top of a precariously small base. The layered components are torn and assembled into a finished product unified by color and profile. While still adhering to the formality of the vessel, the work shows Soldner's desire to explore ambitious sculptural concerns."
