Object Description
Edo period color woodblock print of a three figures. The figure at the left holds a depiction of two swallows and the branches of a flowering tree. The figure at the center sits at a low table, holding a brush, ready to paint a blank field which is shaped like a fan. The figure at the back, right, holds a fan. All three figures are dressed in traditional clothing.

This fine series by Kunisada II highlighted the talents of the artist. In the rare first edition printings (like this) with lacquer and blind printing. They mark a high spot in Japanese print production in the 1850's.
