Commentary
This seems to be a later painting influenced by those of the Chinese artist Zhu Derun (1294-1365), who worked in a number of styles. The figures are well done and detailed. The calligraphy, though, is rendered in an unusual variation of Chinese seal script, and perhaps added after the work was changed from a larger hanging scroll to an album leaf (extensive damage in upper right).
