This miniature child’s tea set would have been given as a girl’s day gift.

Red character painted on the bottom surrounded by green “box”. Fabric tape square attached to bottom with 15 written on it in blue ink.

Object Description
A water pot misusashi – wheel thrown, lidded, glazed blue-white body with blue details and brown/red/green splotches, excellent condition.
B lid rest futaoki – carved bamboo container hollowed out on one end, excellent condition.
C incense container k?g? – tiny circular carved bamboo lidded box, excellent condition.
D tea canister karmi – carved bamboo container with lid, excellent condition.
E tea scoop/matcha spoon chashaku – very thin carved bamboo rod, excellent condition.
F whisk chasen – whisk made out of bamboo, blue and red thread decoration woven through whisk base, purple wax stuck to where figers would hold whisk, crack runs through handle, unstable condition due to crack, yet stable.
G rinse-water receptacle kensui – wheel thrown, coppery-black color, unglazed, small stamp on lower side, excellent condition.
H bowl? – wheel thrown, sandy color, glazed with white crescent on inside and outside, small stamp on lower side, good condition – there’s a ?” chip on the inside rim.
I tea bowl chawan “han tsutsu-gata” type – wheel thrown with uneven rim, brown and black glaze, character carved into lower side, excellent condition.
J chakin holder chakin tsutsu – tiny bamboo container hollowed out with two holes of different sizes drilled into it, excellent condition.
K cloth chakin – coarsely woven white fabric, hand hemmed on the two longer parallel sides, excellent condition.
L cloth fukusa – finely woven red fabric, three out of four sides folded in on themselves, excellent condition.
M storage box chabako – light-weight rectangular wooden box, divided into three compartments inside with different shaped wooden slats, slightly corroding black metal handle on one end, two-character stamp on opposite end. Lid has slightly corroding black metal handle which has left faint rub-marks on the wood. The wood on the box appears slightly worn around where the lid is placed. Good condition.
