The underside of the foot is signed and dated, "Soldner '61".
Object Description
A large, heavy stoneware bowl, decorated on the outside with a red iron glaze and a rutile blue glaze. The outer rim is decorated with a repeating, narrow stairstep pattern in rutile blue glaze that appears as celadon. Soldner used a wheel to create the pattern It is one inch high and runs around the entire lip. Inside, the bowl has celadon, and purple notes from the rutile blue glaze.
