Commentary
A kabuki scene. The famed military commander in the Sengoku Period, Sanada Yukimura (1567-1615), was the royal vassal of Toyotomi Hideyoshi. He was especially known for his heroic role in the "Siege of Osaka Castle." Left: actor Bando Kakitsu (1847-1893) and actor Ichikawa Kintaro (1870-1949) (aka Matsumoto Koshiro); Center: actor Nakamura Shikan (1831-1899); Right: actor Ichikawa Danjuro (1838-1903) as Sanada Yukimura
