The kabuki actor Nakamura Ganjaku (right) is depicted in the role of courtesan Oiso Tora; Kobayashi Asahina (lower right: Nakamura Shikan); Villain Kudo Suketsune (middle top: Bando Hikosaburo); Soga Goro (red robe: Ichikawa Sadanji); Courtesan Shosho (Iwai Hanshiro) and Juro Sukenari (Nakamura Tossho).

The piece bears the signature, "Toyohara Kunichika."
