Kogyo's work is here as is that of Shoun Yamamoto. The sample displayed on the collection is that of a Kogyo work.

As a way to popularize noh at the turn of the 19th century, magazines documenting popular culture would have woodblock printed inserts that featured dramatic scenes from famous plays. The artist Kogyo was very active in the vitalization of noh, designing over 300 prints in various formats, such as this magazine foldout.

"Shokoku" is on the cover sheet. The piece displays the seal, "Shoun."
