Commentary
Kuchi-e (frontispiece illustration), made for popular literary magazines largely aimed at the female readers in the Meiji-Taisho era. This is illustration depicts a girl adding chrysanthemums to her hair ornament. Bungei Kurabu was a very popular literary magazine in the Meiji-Showa era.
