The work has undergone conservation. Traces of waterstaining over approximately 60 percent of the work remain, as do marks caused by foxing.

Object Description
The ruins of the temple of Karnak in the city of Thebes, Egypt are depicted. French soldiers, villagers, palm trees and a camel in the foreground create a sense of the size of the buiildings for the viewer.
