Object Description
Vertical color woodblock print from the series "Tale of Genji, 54 Chapters" (Genji Goju-yon cho), depicting Ch. 27 Cressets (Kagaribi), where Prince Genji stays with Tamakazura, and noticing the moonless night, orders the braziers lit. The large folding-fan shaped inset depicts a burning brazier with the chapter title. Wave patterns are embossed over the entire white background, and the print is bordered in green with Genji-ko incense marks.
