Object Description
Vertical color woodblock print from the series Shin Nigao depicting Teikoku Theater actress HATSUSE Namiko in the role of MATSUSHIMA Tsubone. Shin Nigao was a short-lived magazine series from 1915 that ran for 5 issues. Several artists contributed to one or two prints for the series, which showcased individual approaches to the traditional actor's portrait.
