Object Description
Color woodblock print from the series "Twelve Months of Noh Pictures" (Juni-kagetsu Noh ga Suri). This series is comprised of Sofu's six original designs plus six designs by his son, Hideyo.

In the Noh play "Yoroboshi" (Stumbling Beggar Boy), the young man Shuntokumaru arrives at Tennoji Temple. Years of living in depravity has left him sick and blinded; he comes to the temple in search of alms and salvation.
