Object Description
Color woodblock print of a scene from the Noh play Sekidera Komachi (The Poet Ono no Komachi at Sekidera Temple). During the Tanabata Festival, an old priest of the Sekidera Temple takes a young student to hear the poetry of an old woman said to be learned in the classical poems. As she recites, the old priest realizes that she is the famous poet, Ono no Komachi.
