Object Description
Length of white cotton with a hand-painted design of a boatman and mountain beyond. Tenugui are Japanese hand towels made of thin, plain weave cotton, usually decorated with resist and painted designs. It can, and is used for anything from a hand towel, washcloth, headband, souvenir or for decorative hanging. They were sometimes made as mementos for special occasions and for company advertisements.
