There are Chinese characters carved into the metal on the bottom of the bottle, which attribute it to the reign of Cheng Lung.

Multicolored enamel and gilding on a cast copper base.

Object Description
Round bodied Chinese cloisonée snuff bottle, decorated with a yellow/brown and white toned dragons against turquoise, within a red bordered fields. This decoration is within a larger cobalt ground with diamond shaped cloisons. The top and bottle edge are decorated with bands of sea green enamel. The button shaped lid is decorated with a central yellow flower against a cobalt ground.
