There are Chinese characters carved into the metal on the bottom of the bottle, attributing it to the reign of Cheng Lung.

Object Description
Roughly square shaped Chinese cloisonée snuff bottle, decorated with a bird, flower, and butterfly motif against a sky blue enamel ground, within a blue bordered multi-lobed field. This decoration is within a larger yellow ground with blue chrysanthemums. The button lid is decorated with a multi-petalled white and pink flower.
