Object Description
Japanese cloisonné vase with a rounded base and a narrow stick neck. The body is decorated with butterflies with some foil underlay (mostly in cool tones), against a black ground. Twisted and flattened copper wires form the butterflies' antennae, outline their wings, and outline the petaloid border around the shoulder. The neck and base have a floral pattern with spiral cloisons against a dark green ground. The interior is coated in turquoise gloss enamel.
